SL&GC WINTER RULES

Like all seasons, Winter is a special time at the Lake.

Please read the following guidelines carefully to ensure a safe visit.

Paddle Tennis

  • Please reserve your court here.

  • We ask that you limit your reserved time to 90 minutes.

  • The court may only be reserved 48 hours before play.

  • Shovels and brooms are placed at the courts for your use.

  • Please leave them outside the court when you are finished.

  • It is advised that you arrive at the court 30 minutes before play if you anticipate snow or ice conditions.

  • The courts will be shoveled by our landscaper when there is heavy snow, and our Director of Buildings and Grounds will routinely clear lighter accumulations.

Ice Skating

  • All Skating is AT YOUR OWN RISK!

  • Please remember there is a river with moving water that feeds into the lake.

  • The ice conditions around the mouth of the river and along the path of river movement are always questionable.  Additionally, you should avoid skating around the bend toward the dam the water continues to flow in that direction! If conditions are ideal, all skating should happen within 100 yards of the Boathouse/swim area.  Please do not skate any further!!!

  • Skating is for members and guests only, and members must always accompany their guests.

Pet Policy

  • Dogs are never allowed on the dock or in the Boathouse, but are permitted on Club grounds during the offseason from November 1 through May 1.

  • Please be considerate of others and pick up after your dog!

Trash

  • Between November 1 and May 1 we ask that members remove their own trash from the club.

  • We will suspend trash collection during this time.

Security

  • The Far Hills Police Department routinely performs security checks at the club and the property is monitored 24/7 by video surveillance.
