DAN SZELINGOWSKI

Dan returns to the Lake Club for his 9th year as Manager. Dan began his tenure with the Lake Club during its centennial celebration in 2017 and spent one season (2022) as the General Manager of The Noe Pond Club in Chatham, NJ, before returning in 2023. Alongside the Board of Governors, Dan has stewarded the Club through a period of continuous growth and improvement. During his tenure, he has made strides in improving Club communications, overseen the redesign of the website, re-energized Summer Camp, and upgraded Club facilities and amenities, including the Kayak Room renovation, installation of permanent bathroom facility, resurfaced Dock, purchase of new swim rafts, and new custom awnings on the Boathouse. Additionally, Dan successfully navigated the Club through the extreme challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

His related work experience includes working as a teacher, coach, and administrator for the past 20 years at Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ. During this time, he has been a member of Delbarton's science department, teaching every grade level from 7th–12th and serving in numerous roles outside of the classroom, including baseball and football coach, admissions officer, co-chair of Delbarton's reaccreditation, and class dean.

Dan graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2006 with his B.A. in Neuroscience, where he was a four-year letter winner on the most successful football team in school history. In 2012, he earned his M.A. in Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University. Then, in 2018, he earned a Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership from Harvard's Graduate School of Education. A lifelong learner, Dan has continued his graduate studies in pursuit of his doctorate and is currently ABD (All But Dissertation) in the Education Leadership (Ed.D.) program at Seton Hall University. Dan currently resides in Mendham Borough with his wife Kristin, a STEM teacher in Livingston, and their daughters Klara (11), Winifred (7), and Elizabeth (5).

ASHLEY LLOYD

Ashley joined the Lake Club staff in 2025, bringing a wealth of administrative experience and a sharp eye for organization. With a background in education administration and customer service, Ashley is dedicated to ensuring the Club runs smoothly for members and staff alike.

Ashley serves as the Attendance Officer and Administrative Assistant at Delbarton School, where she maintains student records, coordinates with faculty and parents, and supports various school operations. Previously, she has also held roles in service sales and funeral service administration, showcasing her versatility and strong interpersonal skills.

Ashley earned her B.A. in History from Kean University. When she’s not keeping operations in order at the Club, Ashley dedicates her time to volunteering in Guatemala, helping build houses for families in need. She also leads a young mom ministry group fostering encouragement and community for fellow mothers. She currently resides in Flanders, NJ, where she lives with her husband, Chris, and their two children, Carson (5) and Avery (4).

BENJAMIN STONE

Ben Stone joins Somerset Lake & Game Club as the Summer Camp Director for the 2026 season, bringing a rare combination of professional experience, camp leadership, and deep personal connection to the Club community. Ben is the son of longtime Club members Ed and Ann Stone, and many families will remember him as a former camper, counselor, and employee at SL&GC. Having grown up with the Club as part of his own summers, Ben is especially excited to return in a leadership role and help guide the next generation of campers through a meaningful, fun, and safe summer experience.

Professionally, Ben is a seasoned educator with 13 years of teaching experience, primarily at the elementary level in both public and independent school settings, including time teaching internationally. He is known for his high energy, thoughtful approach to working with children, and strong ability to build positive community culture. In addition to his classroom background, Ben has worked at several well-established sleepaway summer camps, gaining valuable “big camp” experience that complements the traditions and close-knit environment of Somerset Lake. He is also a Peace Corps alum and an Eagle Scout, reflecting his long-standing commitment to service, leadership, and outdoor youth development. Ben is excited to work closely with the Club’s leadership and Camp Committee to ensure that Somerset Lake & Game Club’s Camp continues to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and joy. Ben lives with his wife and young son on the campus of Rectory School (Pomfret, CT) where he is a teacher. He and his family look forward to spending summers back in the Somerset Hills. 

Sean Bio

SEAN LARSON

Sean Larson is the head Tennis Pro at Somerset Lake & Game Club and Strength and Conditioning Coach/Tennis Instructor at the Warren Health & Racquet Club.  Sean has been a USPTA certified Tennis professional since 2008 along with being certified as a Speed and Agility Specialist.  

 

Sean has owned FiT Athlete, LLC, a business that has specialized in Strength and Agility training for nearly a decade.  Beyond starting his own business, Sean has been coaching tennis and training athletes for over 20 years.  An alum of Voorhees High School, Sean played four years of varsity tennis and one year of football, along with competing in the NJ Marines Physical Fitness Competition where he won 2nd in the state and #1 in the state broad jump!  

 

He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Salisbury University in 2007 where he captained the tennis team for both his junior and senior years.  Additionally, Sean used to compete in powerlifting competitions, where he earned a 3rd place finish in the Salisbury University bench press competition his freshman year and won the Maryland state bench press his senior year.  Sean's business FiT Athlete has helped change the lives of many children and adults whether to achieve weight loss goals, gain confidence, or become a better athlete.  Along the way, he has coached students of all levels from young beginners to top professionals.  Sean is also devoted to giving back to the community by partnering FiT Athlete with various fundraisers helping local kids in need in association with institutions such as Sloan Kettering.  Sean and his wife Jackie currently live in Bridgewater with their daughter, Cali (6).

HUGO MORAS

Director of Buildings & Grounds

Hugo Moras joined the Lake Club as Director of Buildings and Grounds in July 2024 and immediately set to work improving and maintaining the Club’s facilities. Since his arrival, Hugo has made a significant impact, enhancing the quality and play of the tennis courts, ensuring a reliable supply of firewood for members to enjoy, and overseeing the maintenance of the extensive trail system that winds around the lake. His dedication to preserving and improving the Club’s natural beauty and infrastructure ensures that members can continue to enjoy the unique outdoor experience the Lake has to offer.

His commitment to excellence and attention to detail help maintain the high standards that make the Lake Club a special place for its members. In addition to his work at the Lake Club, Hugo continues to develop his own handyman business, Hugo the Handyman LLC, where he applies his wide-ranging skills to home repairs, renovations, and custom projects for clients

Hugo lives in Hackettstown, NJ, with his partner Lauren, son Logan (3) and stepdaughter Talia (10).

BRIAN McFADDEN

Brian McFadden is the Head Tennis Pro at The Club at Natirar, a Montage Resort property in Peapack- Gladstone NJ.  His focus is planning weekly group activities, teaching adult and junior private lessons and hosting special club events.  In the spring and fall seasons, he helps instruct clinics and coach ladies teams at Roxiticus in Mendham, and in summer teaches various tennis camp age groups at The Somerset Lake & Game Club in Far Hills.  

Brian has a long history of leading summer tennis programs at Camp Deerhorn in Wisconsin, which includes players who have gone on to Division 1 success at Stanford University, Ohio State, Boston College and University of Oregon among others.  Over the years he has taught for NYC Parks & Recreation, coached USTA 10 & under league teams and worked in a management role for sports business powerhouse IMG overseeing pro and senior tour events with many greats of the game - once even sharing the court with legendary Billie Jean King.  

Brian is a graduate of Delbarton School, where he played #1 singles and served as team captain.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University in Economics and holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

STEVE SEDLOCK

Assistant Tennis Pro

Steve Sedlock brings us 50 years of tennis experience as a player, instructor, coach, captain and tournament organizer.  He was a #1 singles player in high school, as well as in the Mountain Valley Conference.  He also reached #4 in singles (age group) in the USTA Mid-Atlantic Region (Virginia). 

His focus is planning weekly group activities, teaching adult and junior private lessons and hosting special club events.  In the spring and fall seasons, he works closely with Sean as part of the FIT Athlete team.  

 

Steve is a graduate of Virginia Tech and has a Master's from Virginia Commonwealth University.  He's a Level One certified USPTA Certified Tennis Instructor who looks forward to helping our members work on their game, while having fun and getting great exercise along they way.
