SL&GC  RULES & REGULATIONS

GENERAL

 

1. Members and their children are expected to behave in a polite and orderly fashion, with consideration for other members, guests and employees, at all times while on the Club premises. Names of those persons violating this rule will be reported to the Board of Governors.

 

2. Members and their children will comply with the lifeguard's directions regarding matters

of water safety. Anyone disregarding such directions will be asked to leave the Club.

 

3. Unruly children will be discharged from the Club grounds and may not return unless

accompanied by an adult responsible for their orderly behavior.

 

4. Consumption of alcoholic beverages on Club premises by those below the age of 21 is

prohibited. Glass bottles or containers are not permitted in the swimming area.

 

5. Consumption of alcoholic beverages around the Boathouse before 5:00 PM is prohibited except with permission from the Board of Governors for special occasions. In addition, consumption of alcoholic beverages in the swimming area is prohibited at all times.

 

6. No child under 7 years of age may be left alone anywhere at the Club without a competent babysitter. If such a child is left in the care of an older sibling or babysitter, the lifeguards must be informed.

 

7. Children ages 7 to 12 must pass the Little Raft Test to be left alone anywhere on the premises.

 

8. WHEN NO LIFEGUARDS ARE ON DUTY, CHILDREN UNDER 12 SHALL NOT BE LEFT

UNSUPERVISED ON THE DOCK!

 

9. The dam and road are out of bounds.

 

10. Dogs are never allowed on the dock or in the Boathouse, but are permitted on Club grounds during the offseason from November 1 through May 1. Please be considerate of others and pick up after your dog.

 

11. No radios or amplified music are allowed on the premises.

 

12. Vehicles must follow a clockwise course en route past the Boathouse and are not permitted to park in the picnic area.

 

13. SMOKING, CANDLES, AND OPEN FLAMES ARE PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES IN THE BOATHOUSE AND ON THE DOCK.

 

14. All personal belongings must be taken home each day. Any items left at the Club

overnight must be retrieved from the Lost & Found.

 

15. Children are to be picked up by a parent or guardian and may not leave the Club with any staff member.

 

16. Members who do not pick up their children by the 5:00 PM closing time will be charged a fee equal to the costs the Club incurs to remain open.

 

17. Members are responsible for removing their garbage from the premises after picnicking.

 

18. The use of cell phones is prohibited on the dock and in the picnic area. If you must make or receive a call, please do so from the parking area.

 

19. Members are asked to display a Club window decal on their automobile in the lower corner of the driver’s side rear window. Please see the Club Manager if you need a sticker.

 

20. Any member attending a Lake Club function will be charged the event fee.

 

BOATING

 

1. Children who have passed the Big Raft Test may have rowboat privileges.

 

2 . Children who have boating privileges must stay within sight of the Boathouse unless they are accompanied by a lifeguard or an adult.

 

4. Boating privileges will be suspended for anyone capsizing a boat except when being tested by lifeguards.

 

5. All kayaks and paddleboards must be properly stored and cleaned out after use. This includes securing the Kayak room when lifeguards are not on duty.

 

6. Children 13 years of age and under are required to wear a lifejacket at all times while boating. Children over 13 must also wear a lifejacket if they have not passed the Big Raft test. There must be a lifejacket for every passenger in the boat.

 

7. Electric motors are not permitted except for use by Club personnel. 

 

SWIMMING

 

1. ROPED AREA - Children will not be allowed beyond the roped area until they have passed the Little Raft Test or are accompanied by an adult.

 

2. LITTLE RAFT - Children who are eligible may swim to the Little Raft with the approval of the lifeguard on duty.

 

3. BIG RAFT - ALL SWIMMERS going to the Big Raft must notify the lifeguard on duty and are encouraged to swim with another member or guest.

 

4. WHEN NO LIFEGUARD IS ON DUTY, children under 18 years of age shall not swim unless accompanied or actively supervised by an adult, and adults are strongly urged to swim with another member or guest. Swim at your own risk!

 

FISHING

 

1. No fishing off the main dock. Anglers may fish from boats or off the fishing dock and are expected to clean up their equipment, especially line and hooks that pose a danger to other members and wildlife.

 

2. Neither fishing nor equipment is allowed in the sandbox area at any time.

 

3. All state of New Jersey fishing laws and regulations must be observed including the

possession of licenses.

 

PARTIES

 

1. Children under 18 years of age may not use the Club facilities for group parties unless

accompanied by an adult member.

 

2. Children under 21, without adult supervision, will not be allowed on the property past

midnight.

 

3. Parties of over 16 people or requiring more than two tables must be approved by the Board of Governors and incur a fee. All important Club dates will be posted on the website.

 

GUESTS

 

1. All guests must be accompanied by a member. The daily guest fee will be incurred for on-site activities limited to the use of the waterfront (i.e. fishing, swimming, boating, etc.), courts, or attending events where guests are permitted. Members will not be charged if their guests are only picnicking or having cocktails. All Guests must be signed in at the Boathouse upon arrival or in advance using the link on the website. 

 

2. No adult Guest may be introduced or extended the privileges of the Club by the same member or other members more than three times in one year. Children also incur the $10.00 daily guest fee, but have no visitation limits except being limited to attending one full week of camp as a guest.

 

3. All guests are to be registered in the Guest Log by name and date of introduction. 

 

 

 

 

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES WILL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS AND THE OFFENDER WILL BE LIABLE FOR NOT LESS THAN TWO WEEKS SUSPENSION FROM THE CLUB.
